Here you will find information about the working world. This is called Labour Market Information (LMI) and includes local employers, how employment is changing, what skills employers are looking for, the types of work people do, the sectors they work in and the number of people looking for work.

This information can be very helpful when you are planning your future. For example; what skills to learn or courses to study, what are your chances of getting into your chosen job, or of finding work.

Employment in Hertfordshire has been fairly stable during the last decade. The information on this site was correct at the time of collection, but will not reflect the current situation since the 2008/9 recession started. The financial retail and construction sections have declined, with manufacturing and other sectors also affected.
